Rendered in 18k yellow gold, this charming little bee ring was inspired by the personal emblem of Napoleon Bonaparte. It measures approximately 17mm wide, tapering to 4mm in the back, where the two 1.5mm rounded bands meet. It features black diamond eyes, weighing .02ct, and 8.70 grams of 18k gold. As emperor of France, Napoleon chose the bee as the symbol of power and legitimacy of his reign. Empress Josephine used bees throughout the decoration of her Chateau Malmaison, and indeed they were embroidered in gold thread on her white satin imperial gown and slippers. Bees also had great meaning throughout ancient times, as symbols of resurrection. This ring is also available in 18k white or rose gold, if you prefer or with different stones for the eyes.
